Meet Winston – proof that love doesn’t rely on perfect sight Winston is a 7-year-old, 24 lb Westie mix with a heart that’s even bigger than he is. This sweet, neutered boy is up to date on all vaccinations and ready to find a forever home of his own. He may be almost blind due to cataracts, but Winston doesn’t let that define him. He’s adapted beautifully, gets around with confidence, and enjoys life to the fullest. Whether he’s playing with his favorite toy, enjoying time in the yard or snuggled up beside his person, Winston is happiest just being close. Total cuddle bug. He’s house-trained and crate-trained, making him an easy fit for a loving home. Winston does well with other dogs; cat compatibility is unknown. Because of his vision, he’d do best in a calm home without young children, as unexpected movements can sometimes startle him. A place where he can feel safe and learn his surroundings at his own pace. Winston may see the world differently, but he loves with his whole heart. Most of our dogs are rescued from high kill shelters in the South. If the dog is posted, they are still available! Once arriving, these dogs enter foster homes, as we do not have a shelter. We cannot adopt out dogs to a home with dogs that are not fixed or up to date on shots.
